WHY JOIN
THE HEIDELBERG
REFORMATION
ASSOCIATION?
1)
We are a group of churches and ministers of like heritage and
doctrine. This
Association is
founded on the common heritage of the Heidelberg Catechism
which binds all of the members. The
churches and ministers that adhere to this are of German, Dutch, and
Hungarian origin. All
churches and ministerial
members are required to subscribe to the Heidelberg Catechism as the
statement of faith. The
membership of the HRA is completely
Reformed with similar theological backgrounds.
2)
Our purpose is to keep Reformed churches Reformed. In participating we will
assist other
churches in retaining and regaining their doctrine.
Many of us have seen churches loose their Reformed
doctrine. In
fulfilling the purposes of this Association, we have the prayerful hope
of seeing churches regain their theological heritage.
3) We provide accountability and fellowship
without control because it
is non-denominational. It
is a
voluntary association of like minded churches banded together by a
doctrinal
commitment and common purpose. Actually
it is possible to be an HRA member and be part of another association
or
denomination. We are a place to get
help and encouragement when needed, and provide the same to others.
This can be especially important to churches who are not
affliated with any denomination or other group, and those who have
recently returned to Reformed theology.
4)
The HRA is a point of identification and unity. Membership
makes a statement regarding your heritage
and doctrine. Membership demonstrates unity regardless of denomination
affliation. We stand together for the Reformed faith as
contained
in the Holy Scriptures and summarized in the Heidelberg Catechism.
